Cycling safety plan
For a long ride or a tour. The route, your back time and who to call, on one page and in one link.
Nothing is uploaded. The plan is written into the link itself, and the draft stays in this browser.
Pebbls isn't an emergency service and can't send help. In an emergency, call the local emergency number.
Checkpoints on a long ride
On a bike you can be a long way from where anyone expects you by lunchtime. Leave the route and a few checkpoints with times, so whoever has your plan knows roughly where you'll be at any hour.
Draw it along the roads
Tap or click along the map and the route follows roads and cycle paths, or load the GPX from Komoot, Strava or your bike computer.
Daylight on the road
In winter the light goes early. Check the sunset for the day, or load your route into the daylight tool to see whether each day of a tour ends before dark.
Questions people ask
What should I put in a cycling safety plan?
The route, where you start and finish, when you set off and expect to be back, the latest time before they should call for help, and what you're riding and carrying.
Who do they call if I'm not back?
The emergency number for the country you're riding in, which the plan shows from official sources. In the UK that's 999 or 112.
Can I use it for a tour of several days?
Yes. Choose A few days at the start, then set a check-in for each evening and where you're staying. Your contact gets a worry time for each one.
Can my family see where I am?
The plan only shows where you meant to go. If they'd like to follow along, the Pebbls app shares your route and photos as you ride.
