A live map for your charity walk or ride

Your sponsors open one link and see how far you’ve got, with your donate link and target beside the route. It’s free, and people give on your own fundraising page, not through Pebbls.

If you’re doing the challenge

For a sponsored walk or a charity bike ride, a day long or a few months. You record it in the Pebbls app and your sponsors follow in a web browser.

Sponsors see where you’ve got to

Pebbls records your route on your phone as you go. Anyone with the link can open the map and see how far you’ve got, without the app or an account. While you have signal the map catches up every few minutes.

No signal on the hill

The app keeps recording with no signal. When your phone is back in range it sends the route, and the gap on the map fills in.

Your donate link beside the map

Add your JustGiving, GoFundMe or charity page to the journey, with your target and what you’ve raised so far. It shows on the map, at the top of your journal, in the emails your followers get and at the end of your flyby films. People give on your fundraising page, so the money goes straight there.

Photos from the way

Add a pebbl when something happens: a photo, a few words, where you were. It’s what brings people back to the map, and it’s what they share.

Sponsors can follow by email

On the map they press Follow and leave an email address. They get a short email on Sunday evenings with the week’s route and photos, only when there’s news. They don’t need an account.

You keep the total up to date

Pebbls can’t see your fundraising page, so you type in the new total when it goes up. The date you last changed it shows next to it, so nobody is left looking at an old figure.

Setting it up

  1. Start a journey in the app. Put the Pebbls app on your phone, start a journey and tap TRACK when you set off.
  2. Add your donate link. On our website, open My journeys, pick the journey and choose Fundraising. Paste your donate link, and add a target if you’d like a bar that fills up.
  3. Send the link. Send your journey map link to your sponsors before you go. It never changes, so the same link works all the way.

If you’re the charity

For a sponsored walk with lots of people taking part, or a challenge supporters do in their own time through the year.

All your walkers on one map

A partner hub is your charity’s own page on Pebbls, with your logo and colour. Walkers and riders join it with your invite link and add their journey in the app. Every route shows on the hub’s map, which supporters open in a web browser.

A donate button on your hub

Charity hubs get a donate button that opens your own donation page, so the money goes straight to you. Each walker can still put their own fundraising page on their journey.

The map on your own website

Copy one line of code from your hub page into your website and the map of everyone’s routes appears there. New journeys show up on it by themselves.

First year free

Apply before 31 January 2027 and your first year is free, with no card to enter. After that it’s £100 a year for a charity. Your walkers never pay anything.

Questions

Do my sponsors need the app?

No. They open the link in a web browser. If they’d like an email when there’s news, they press Follow and leave an email address.

Does Pebbls handle the money?

No. The Donate button opens your own fundraising page, so people give there and the money goes straight to it. Pebbls never touches it.

How up to date is the map?

While your phone has signal, the route goes up every few minutes. With Explorer you can switch on Live, which sends your position as you move. With no signal the app keeps recording and catches up later.

Does everyone in our team need the app?

No. One person can record the walk on their phone, and the rest of the team follow the map like your sponsors do.

Does it work for a bike ride or a paddle?

Yes. You pick how you’re travelling when you start, on foot, by bike, by kayak or under sail, and you can change it on the way.

Is it free?

Yes. Tracking, the map, fundraising on a journey and flyby films are free, with no adverts. Explorer is optional.
