Not the best experience, I have to say. Food below par, ripped off by the staff, charged for things we didn't order, service cold and impersonal. Better luck tomorrow...

A big city, so dilapidated, what do all these people live on... and then the cathedral... tolling, but Wouter lives off that?
The Turkish stairs
Or rather Scala dei Turchi, as the photos tell us. The bay around Scala dei Turchi offered the Arab pirates a perfect sheltered spot against the strong winds. They moored their ships there and climbed up the natural "steps" of the cliff face to plunder the nearby Sicilian villages (such as Realmonte).
