Reporting and blocking
Report something
If you see something that shouldn't be on Pebbls, report it. You can report a journey, a pebbl, a comment, a profile, a flyby film, a community or a discussion. Reports come to us, and we look at every one.
- On the website, tap the flag (Report) on a pebbl in the feed or the journal, on a flyby film, or on a community or discussion. On the map, open a pebbl and choose … › Report; to report a whole journey, open its information on the map and tap the flag
- For a comment, tap … next to it (or Report under it in the feed) and choose Report
- For a person, open their profile, tap … and choose Report
- Pick a reason: Spam, Abusive or hateful, Nudity or violence, Someone's safety, Copyright or Something else. Add a note if it helps, then send it
- If you're not signed in, you can leave your email so we can get back to you, and there's a quick check that you're a person
- In the app, on the Notifications screen: press and hold an item from someone (or tap ⋮ next to it) and choose Report. App screens that show the map, feed, journal, profiles and communities have the same Report buttons as the website
Block someone
Block someone when you don't want to hear from them again. You can do it:
- from the … menu on their profile
- from the … menu next to one of their comments on the map
- after you report something of theirs: the thank-you message usually offers to block them
- in the app, from the menu on a Notifications item (press and hold it, or tap ⋮ next to it)
What blocking does
- They can't follow you, comment on your pebbls or react to them
- If either of you follows the other, that follow is removed
- While you're signed in, you won't see each other's journeys, pebbls or comments anywhere on Pebbls: in the feed, on the map, in journals, in search or on profiles. You won't come up in each other's Explorer Directory either
- Nothing from them reaches your notifications
- If they open your profile while signed in, it says the profile isn't available
- If they open one of your journeys while signed in, it says the journey isn't available
- They aren't told that you blocked them
Unblocking
On the website, Account Settings › Blocked lists everyone you've blocked, with Unblock next to each name; you can also unblock from their profile. In the app it's Settings › Blocked explorers. Once you unblock someone they can follow you and comment again, but a follow that the block removed doesn't come back by itself. They aren't told.
