Bernel
Hi,
Here I am, or actually, not really. I am Ben, and I still find traveling beautiful. I have always been focused on the "journey." That takes precedence over the destination. Even as a young child, I would look out the window in the car, continuously and in all directions.
Later, traveling independently on public transport, always looking for a window or aisle seat. Looking and gazing at the landscapes. Whether it be forests, long roads, tunnels, mountains, cities, coastlines, plains, or whatever else... it still fascinates me.
On a bike or on foot, that attention and the feeling associated with it are even stronger. I become one with the landscape. I feel connected to it and am part of it. It is precisely that slow travel that I find beautiful; something in the distance can remain very far away for a very long time... and suddenly I (or we, if there are companions) am close to it or even past it.
The question, of course, is whether that is also the case with rainbows or Shangri La. I will let you know sometime.
A large part of the experience consists of the encounters. Other travelers, ordinary people who live and work there, and everyone I come into contact with and can strike up a conversation with. Sharing the stories, images, thoughts, and experiences along the way.
If you decide to follow my adventures, I wish you much reading and viewing pleasure and inspiration. And you are welcome—and I would even encourage you—to share your thoughts.
