Grants
Micro Grants
Micro grants are made with proceeds from the Community Lottery and aim to support, promote and improve vibrant London communities, available specifically to small local groups, initiatives and individuals wishing to develop a community based project or activity. They are to be used primarily for small projects and activities, which are otherwise difficult to fund, rather than as a small contribution to a larger project.
Previous Micro Grant Recipients
Our 5th and most recent grant goes to White City Action Group, who will take a group of young people, aged 11 – 15, on a trip to Whipsnade Zoo.
Our 4th grant went to ATD Fourth World. They organised a seaside trip for some of the disadvantaged families they work with around the Elephant & Castle area. Take a look at the news here.
Our 3rd grant went to the Croydon Hostel to put on a Christmas lunch with all the trimmings for the homeless hostel residents.
Our 2nd grant was made to an after school football project for youth at St.Mary’s Path Estate in the heart of Islington. Our grant helps pay for a qualified trainer supplied by Access to Sports.
Our 1st grant purchased digital cameras for children, aged 8-15, in Spitalfields who took pictures of their lives and exchanged them with a rural school in Pune, India, to learn about another country, culture and way of life. For photos of the children in India, please click here. Zaina (8) from London said: “I want the children in India to see what people look like, to see what babies look like, to see our animals and to see what kind of toys we have here.”
